Kappa Alpha Theta Disbanded

During formal sorority rush, I learned that the sorority Kappa Alpha Theta was disbanded in 2001 and reinstated about three years ago. Does anyone know why it was disbanded in the first place?

One word: termites.

I don’t know but the usual reasons are either hazing (national has zero tolerance for most sororities) or alchohol/drugs.

There are other reasons. Sometimes a sorority just gets behind in being able to recruit new members. The newer recruiting rules (since 2001) have helped sororities to pretty much reach quota and Auburn is using them now. Everything I see about the newly colonized Kappa Alpha Theta leads me to believe that they will be successful.

I’m in Theta, so I can help clear this up. We got suspended for a year due to financial issues. There were no hazing problems, no alcohol violations, just money problems haha. Our chapter is doing so great now  We’re officially the biggest chapter on campus, and our pledge class has 75 members.
