<p>Sad twist of fate-- both daughters of well known politicians (Walter Mondale and Ted Kennedy), both 51, both died today. Condolences to their families.</p>
<p>That’s sad- 51 is so young!</p>
<p>Startling news. My sincere condolences. Will keep both families close in thought, especially Kara’s daughter whose birthday is Monday.</p>
<p>Gotta say, as a 51-year old, this news sort of gives me an icky feeling.</p>
<p>Oh that is sad about Kara’s daughter’s upcoming 17th birthday as well.</p>
<p>So sad, my sympathies to their families. What happened?</p>
<p>Kara Kennedy, whose lung cancer was in remission, had an MI at her health club Friday night according to reports. (Glad I didnt read this when I was on the running machine at my club an hour ago!!)</p>
<p>Eleanor Mondale died at home of brain cancer. So sad.</p>
<p>What terrible news! I remember reading, at the time of Ted Kennedy’s death, that Kara Kennedy had been fighting lung cancer. I didn’t know that Eleanor Mondale had cancer, too.</p>
<p>Former Senator Charles Percy of IL died today. He was 91 - much better than dying at 51 as the two women have. My sympathies to all the families.</p>
<p>Both battled cancer- seems unusual. Both today, both 51- ----strange.</p>

<p>How very sad for all three families. Charles Percy’s daughter was brutally murdered while still a young woman, I think I read somewhere.</p>
<p>Wasn’t Kara’s mother a heavy smoker? Her brother had childhood cancer that led to a leg amputation as well.</p>
<p>How terribly sad, and both too young. I didn’t know either were sick. Lately, several people I know around that age have been diagnosed with brain cancer and died shortly thereafter.</p>
<p>Learned something new…I had to look up MI.</p>
<p>I am also 51. I can’t believe how many people my age I see in the death notices. It’s scary to realize that I am on the other side of the hill.</p>

<p>I was familiar with both Kara Kennedy and Eleanore Mondale, but had no idea that either of them had cancer. Very sad and my condolences to both families.</p>
<p>As an Illinois native I grew up with Chuck Percy as my senator. I was a child when one of his daughters was tragically murdered and I believe the case was never solved. Very sad.</p>
<p>Brian Urlacher’s mother died this week too…age 51.</p>
<p>And for those who don’t know who Brian Urlacher is, he plays for the Chicago Bears.</p>
<p>Sooooo sad! WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE GETTING CANCER?</p>
<p>Very sad…both young women …very sad…prayers for their families as they grieve. :(</p>
