I am a high school senior highly interested in the Kelley School of Business. I qualify as a Direct Admit and I’d like to hear some opinions about the classes. I’ve read horror stories all over this website about how hard the weed out classes are (I’d be a DA, but I’d still be taking them) and I was wondering if this is an exaggeration or if A100 and Finite (among others) are as bad as people are making them out to be. I’d like to have a shot at Business Honors, as well.

If you are a strong student and work hard, the so-called weed out classes are very manageable. However, it really depends on what your strengths are (for example finite tends to be easier for strong math students). Most people I know who were direct admits found finite very easy. A100 is a class that is easy if you put the work in but really tough if you slack off. Any horror stories you hear are more than likely a result of not putting in the necessary work, not the classes being impossibly difficult.
