Kenkel MacroEcon - Book?

Hey, I’ve been reading at ratemyprofessors.com, and I found that for my Macro Economics Teacher, Jim (James) Kenkel, people say “not to buy the book” and that “the book is unhelpful” and “you’ll never open it.” Can anyone attest to this for his class? Or, on a broader note, if most of the reviews seem to say that, is it safe to assume I won’t need it? It says that the 3 tests are all over notes, and the notes are posted online, and all his lectures are over the notes.

Thanks!

I took the class last semester and trust me you don’t need the book. if you really want to buy the book buy an older edition. it’s a lot cheaper and has the exact same information. kenkel never referred to the book and his tests are straight from the notes. the notes have nothing to do with the book either because it is a lot more information and the chapters don’t match up. kenkel is a lot more straightforward too. hope this helps.

Thanks, that helps a ton to really hear it from someone. Saves me a lot of money too!

Also, you don’t happen to know anything about Jesse Studer (French) or Kirk Erickson (Psych) do you?
