Kent vs Suffield vs Hopkins

Hi! So I recently just got admitted into Hopkins(kind of old news since their decision day is in Feb, but js found this site out) Kent and Suffield. I got waitlisted to the five other schools I applied to, they were all pretty large and well-known, Deerfield, Taft, Loomis, Hotchkiss, and Choate. My top choices were Deerfield and Kent, then everything else came afterwords. I just want to know what are my chances of getting off the waitlist or whether I should even just stop at Kent. Also, I’d just like some extra opinions on what school to choose(still some questioning going on with my choices)

I also just wrote a letter of continued interest

wait doesnt it come out on march 18th 2026 for rd? jhu?

edit: sorry, i didnt realize its the prep school Hopkins.

You are in a terrific place! Kent is amazing, and you can now get excited and make plans to attend one of your two preferred schools. You are very fortunate and there are many kids who would envy your position. There is very little movement in waiting lists, so I would be glad you wrote the LOCI, and then turn your full attention to the awesome adventure that awaits you at Kent.

My child was choosing from among three schools last year, as well. Once the decision was made, they did not look back. I genuinely think that excitement will give you the best outcome. Good luck!

Congratulations! My daughter also got waitlisted at Loomis and Hotchkiss last year, but she is at Kent now and absolutely loves it! Definitely go to a revisit day if you can (guessing you’re at CT resident since you got into Hopkins).

If you have any specific Kent questions I’m happy to answer them. My daughter has made so many wonderful friends, and her teachers and advisor have all been great. They are currently renovating the dining hall and student center, but they should be done by Thanksgiving so not too much disruption. Having town so close is great as well, as the kids can easily walk to get coffee, pizza, groceries etc.

Good luck with your decision…

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for all the info! I have friends at Kent who have told me a lot of their experiences and they seem really fun.
