Kenyon Class of 2030 Official Thread

S26 received a package last week from Kenyon with a little surprise, something you wear in this cold cold weather. Anyone else?

Nice! I’d say Kenyon was top 5, but maybe moving up. He got into Oberlin EA which is also up there, but he’s waiting to hear from several more schools. His other top schools are reaches (2 ivies and Middlebury). We’ll just have to wait and see how it all pans out. I’m just happy he has some options that he really likes!

Congrats on Oberlin!! I did not know they had an EA option! Great to hear he likes all his options! Please keep us posted!

Oberlin EA is new this year.

Yes, he discovered that they had an EA option late, but was able to submit in time because there were no supplementals.

It appears that decisions are in the portal. Good luck to all of you! Proud and grateful to report that both of my kids are in, and with generous and competitive packages. Scheduling visiting student days tonight.

Oh my word! I just got home and saw the package they offered him. Big merit and big institutional aid, making it cheaper than our public schools for us. We’re absolutely heading to Ohio to check it out now! Their acceptance letter was also personalized, a nice touch.

Congrats! And condolences to those less fortunate; hoping you luck on another campus.

W came in about 10K under state schools and tied with the most generous offer from peer private institutions.

WL at Kenyon yesterday -and my daughter and I are suprised it wasn’t a rejection! That being said -we both think her current top options are much better fits for her so all is good here.

For students looking for stats next year:

3.79 UW/4.59 weighted, test optional
800+ hours research, 300+ hours volunteering

financial need

We had a WL and feel the same way! Congrats to those who were passionate about it and got in.

My D26 was accepted regular decision, but the merit scholarship and aid offered made it the most expensive of the ones she’s been accepted to so far. Kenyon is definitely a good school, but we are going to continue to wait for the results from the remaining school’s she applied to in order to see what makes the most sense. She says Kenyon is in the top 2 of her acceptances so far!

That much??? I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask. $15k would definitely get it closer to her other offers. Thanks!
