This scholarship started a few years back and never gets enough applicants. It covers the children of any California injured worker suffering from significant workplace disability (ie. workers’ compensation applicants.) My business partner is on the board and our office is a Founding Sponsor, for full disclosure. We donate substantial sums to this scholarship and do NOT receive any compensation at all in any shape or manner. I am just letting people know about this scholarship because funds are left over every year and it’s a shame to let money go to waste for needy families. You might want to reach out to community college systems around the state. I know a kid who went to a CC because his parent was disabled. Besides the financial reasons, he also wanted to remain close to home for a bit longer. He still has to come up with funds for his final 2 years and I know that’s been a lingering concern in their family. My guess is that many kids of parents on disability follow the same path.
