Kids, Journalism is not a rosy walk in the park.

My hats off goes to those who are beginning their career in Journalism and mass media; whether it’s at Syracuse or Northwestern or even Mizzou. As interesting as it may seem, I think If we all have been paying attention to the news yesterday, we will see that it can be an extremely dangerous jobs. Well for those who do not already know, Lisa Ling, a Chinese American have just been freed from 12 years of hard labor after reported “criminal acts” in Korean territory. This is not to scare anyone of journalism. I am actually rooting for our prospective journalist. I just feel journalism does not get the credit it really deserves.

[Lisa Ling’s sister among two reporters captured by North Korea](http://www.nydailynews.com/news/us_world/2009/03/21/2009-03-21_lisa_lings_sister_among_two_reporters_ca.html)
