Kind of a mean comment for my 11 essay, don't you think?

I got an 11, which means that one person thought it was close to perfect (gave me a 6), and the other thought that it was very, very good (gave me a 5). However, in the comments section, they wrote:

Your essay showed recognition of the complexity of the issue by partially evaluating its implications. General statements in your essay were well supported with specific reasons, examples, and details.

What? Is it just me or was that a little rude? It basically said that I did the bare minimum and did partial work with generalized statements. They can suck it as far as I’m concerned.

its just a general statement that they write for an 11. a few words are changed based on your score. they dont write different individual comments for each persons essay

I agree with the above. I also wouldn’t find the “general statements” comment rude at all…they were just saying that your overarching arguments were WELL-SUPPORTED by specific details. That’s the whole idea, isn’t it?

lol don’t worry about it. i got an 11 and basically the same comment

Thanks, now I don’t feel so bad. :)
