<p>We are considering a present of Kindle 2 for Mount Holyoke College English major DD, but I thought I would first ask about reception and any other experiences with Kindle in the 5-college area in Pioneer Valley. Please comment pro or con!!!</p>
<p>Just saw this thread … Amazon uses the Sprint network for downloading books. You can probably find a network coverage map on the Sprint website.</p>
<p>Interesting. I had not checked before asking for a Kindle if it would actually work at my house. Apparently it will … but not if I lived 1000 feet away. I had not realized that Sprints network was so spotty. </p>
<p>I live in a relatively ridgey-hilly section of southwest Connecticut. It looks like the coverage is related to topography.</p>
<p>Another reason I plan to stick with real books. You never have to worry about “reception.”</p>
