Kindle case

I just pressed the button and ordered the Kindle for myself for the holidays. It will be from my husband but we know how this works.
I didn’t order a cover.
Pros and Cons of the different types of covers. Do most of you read the Kindle like a book and use a book like cover. Or would a neoprene sleeve work?

You need a cover. D2 has a leather one (I think around 20). She doesn’t take it off. It’s soft and cushy. If she drops it I think the cover would absorb some shock.

My sister just heard that there is a class action lawsuit going over Kindle covers sold on Ebay. I haven’t checked into it, yet. Supposedly these are the ones sold on their website - haven’t had time to verify it.

I have a neoprene sleeve that I used to stash in the bag. I bought the case at Target on clearance for under $10 bucks. It fits perfect.

I bought from Amazon the leather one that opens like a book. I really like it. It does make it a bit heavier though.

I believe the lawsuit is in relation to the black leather cover sold through Amazon. I bought one and it nearly cracked my Kindle. Others have not been so lucky. If you visit the message boards on Amazon, you can find posts on this cover. Many people have posted that they received no refund or help from Amazon even though the Kindle was cracked by the very cover designed to protect the device.

What happened with mine was that at some point the prongs which are inserted into the side of the Kindle become bent. It in effect “pries” the front of the Kindle from the body. I noticed my Kindle was buckling. I removed the cover and was able to snap the front frame back into place.

I found a mini netbook cover that I store the Kindle in, but the Kindle is not protected when not in the case.
