No longer an issue for me since I let my pandemic grey take over, but that was very handy for years!
I am very happy with the paperwhite, but I am a new Kindle owner so I don’t know anything else.
The paperwhite is the most versatile if you don’t intend to use it as a tablet. Reading in sunshine and dark is so much easier than the tablet versions. I have both but rarely use the tablet version.
Does anyone use a Kindle remote with their Kindle/Paperwhite? Heard about these a lot lately but am not sold that I need one.
Never heard of this and after reading reviews not sure I’m convinced I need one? Not really understanding how it is helpful- seems to be just another gadget. Turning the page on a kindle is just a tap. Maybe I’m not understanding the value here?
That’s why I’m asking here! I feel largely the same. I’ve seen some people have a “in bed” device that keeps you from having to hold your Kindle - I’ll see if I can find it - and then this sort of makes sense.
One example - this could be next to your bed and then used with remote
Or this
My daughter and nieces all have a remote and like it. I got one, but I have mixed feelings about it.
It’s useful if you read in bed and want to stay under the covers, but I don’t like it for just reading on the couch (which is what I do). I prop my kindle up on a tablet pillow, and it’s just as easy to use the touchscreen. Plus, the case I have won’t close with it attached and I have to connect it with Bluetooth every time I want to use it. Just a few minor annoyances for me - it was less than $20 so not a big deal, but in retrospect I didn’t need it for the way I read.
