kinect games

My kids are getting a kinect from their aunt for the holidays. It comes with a couple of games but I don’t think any of them will interest my kids.
Looking for suggestions for games-
Kids are not really kids anymore- 22 and 17

Both myself and DD2 are hardcore gamers; DD2 is cheerfully blowing away the Covenant (Halo) as we speak. We bought a new 360 with Kinect and sold off the Kinect adaptor in a hurry.

We’re not at the point yet where the Kinect can make a difference in a game, outside the gimmicky bowling or tennis etc. DD2 tried the latest Harry Potter game which is minor-enabled for Kinect and was not impressed with the Kinect-ization.

Maybe for sports games (NFL 2012 and the like) it may make sense, but for FPS (First Person Shooter) games like Call of Duty, Halo, and the like, I do not see it having much use.

You may want to check 360/Kinect sites for details…

Dance central & kinect sports are highly rated.
My daughter has played them & it sounds like a lot of fun.

My family visited friends who are avid Kinect game players. We spent the whole night playing Dance Central. It was so much fun that I am considering buying Kinect just to be able to play this game.

Thanks will look for Dance Central. I am looking for something that the whole family can do.
H and S are making their way through Battlefield 3. S also plays the sports games with his friends from college. I don’t expect Kinect to be a regular part of their X box playing.

I saw this adult man playing a boxing game with Kinect in a store the other day. It was sooo funny to watch. I tried to interest DS2 (who would play xbox 24/7 if we allowed it), but he has no interest. Bummer…looks really fun to me!

Caution: you do need a lot of room to spread out for Kinect to work well! I have read that several places.
