I’m currently studying kinesiology, however, I really love movies and would love to work on them. I was wondering if kinesiology could be used for movies such as choreography or something? I could double major or minor in film studies or media arts.
Your majors don’t have to be seamlessly related to each other to study them both. It’s okay to double major or minor in film simply because you like it.
I would imagine some kinesiologists can provide some advice to movies that involve a lot of movement - not necessarily choreography (choreographers with actual dance experience would be brought on for that) but expertise on biomechanics and physical movement. But I wouldn’t expect the connections to be that deep. Then again, there are a lot of careers I don’t know about out there! So I’d poke around a little. (And even if the career doesn’t currently exist, that doesn’t mean you can’t make one. Movies hire consultants all the time for all kinds of things - maybe action/fighting movies could use a kinesiology consultant?)
