Kitty question

As you know, we have a new cat at our house. He is normally very busy and active. Right now, he is sleeping. He had his vet appointment this morning and did have a distemper shot. Could he be a little under the weather due to the distemper shot? He played a bit when he got home…and has eaten some…and had water. I’m so used to him acting a bit nuts that I’m worried.

He should be fine. Our little cat is always wiped out for a day or two after getting her shots.

I just did a google search and one of the most common side effects is sleepiness. Still, this is not my kitty and I hope he’s ok!

Yes- the shots can really knock them out. Don’t worry.

Agree with others. Going to the Dr. Is pretty scary. Should be fine soon.

Shots can make them tired.

One of the funniest things a cat did was Lily when had dental surgery. We brought her home and she was staggering around the house shouting at us. Like a warped, angry drunk.

Our cat got so wiped out that the vet started giving her a kitty Benadryl shot before her vaccinations.

Update…the kitty is back to his bonkers self. There is a piece of me that misses him sleeping!

You need to keep him well until the owner is back. I am more nervous about someone else’s kid than with mine.

:) Just wait 3-4 years. Good to hear that the kitty is OK. How’s the older cat coping with the situation?

The old cat is not yet “adapting” to having a new cat in the house. Yesterday the vet said they might never get along. Wonderful.

We’ve had our kitten since August and just now one of our older cats decided he’s here to stay. So … one down and one to go. Don’t give up yet.
