Know Before You Go!

<p>As some of you know, my S had a recent overseas gig experience with a variety of twists and turns along the way. The thread has been under discussion in the Parent Cafe, but Violadad suggested I post a link to it here, as it has been quite a learning experience for us, and perhaps some of you may benefit from our mistakes and circumstances.

<p>Some of the lessons for young musicians (and their parents!) include ins and outs of foreign travel, what to look for in a contract, what to look for in an ensemble you will be traveling with, the importance of back up plans, and so on.</p>

<p>Worth looking into to see some of the potential traps and pitfalls for aspiring musicians.</p>

<p>I plan on reading it asap, but thanks for thinking of us who are still green in this music process. Speaking for myself, I hope to read everything I can to learn a little more.</p>
