Hi, please give us an advice and sharing whether my daughter should select Knox - Galsburg IL or Stonehill - Easton MA when she receive an equal scholarship from both. Biomedical and Communication is likely her Major/Minor. Thanks
Congrats to her. If costs will be similar then she can make the decision on her own preferences, If it were me. They are remarkably similar as to size, selectivity, stats of admitted students with Knox perhaps having the edge. Knox is a CTCL college and has good research activity, and 90pct of students complete a research project.

Her major/minor combo sounds odd, well, not really complimentary I guess. And I don’t know what you mean biomedical? They don’t have engineering at Knox. They do have biochemistry. And they don’t have a communications degree but they have other classes that would work for someone interested in that. Same with Stonehill, there is no biomedical anything but there is a communications degree.

KNox is generally seen as a bit more academic-oriented and may be better if she’s premed.
have you visited both? They’re different in atmosphere (Knox is more laid back, Stonehill is preppier).
Those are two VERY different locations.
I will say, if your net costs are the same, we know a LOT of happy students at Stonehill.
Has your child visited both? As Thumper said above–two very, very different locations. Don’t forget to figure in travel costs if you’re closer to one than the other.

Hi, thank you all for your kind advice. My daughter likes communication but she is very good at bio (grade 99) , so not easy for her to make decision. Yes, I mean Biochemistry. The net cost of Stonehill is about $5,000 cheaper than Knox. She is international student, no location difference, and we have no chance to visit any campus. We care much about the academy, campus environment especially for international students and the safety of the area. Stonehill/Easton is nearby Brockton, and heard about its danger.
