Kobe's 81

Not sure if you guyz catch down Marc stein’s breakdown of Kobe’s performance, but his 81 points is way better than Wilt’s 100. Kobe only played 42 min compare to wilt’s 48 min. Wilt took more shots. His teammates fouled the opposing tm so Wilt could keep on scoring. At the rate Kobe was going, he would have scored 93 had he played the additional 6 minutes.
Anyway, there’s a recap of the Lakers vs Raptors on NBA TV this Friday.

that’s kind of interesting…

is snoring

j/k

lol.

that was a magical night.

 1. kobe’s 81. that was ridiculous.
 2. seahawks made super bowl.
 3. Tommy Haas took Roger Federer to 5 sets, but ultimately losing in the Australian Open

btw. im from seattle. go HAWKS.

serious props to Kobe.

Kobe was playing against a really bad defense that gave up midway through the third quarter when they lost their lead. If Kobe had been playing San Antonio or Detroit, which have defensive stoppers like Tayshaun Prince and Bruce Bowen, he wouldn’t have scored more than 50. Even so, I still have to concede that few people int eh league can even approach that number.

Yea…gotta give prop to Kobe no matter how much I dislike him

everybody please get off Kobe’s jock. It’s unbecoming. He’s a dumbass athlete who has no friends because he’s a jerk in real life. He can play ball, but nobody likes him as a person. Hence the criticism on his game.

Screw his personality. He’s a damn talented Bball player. and that’s what we’re talking about. you can slam his personality all you want; it doesn’t matter because he’s the most dominant player in the game today. period.

I was with you 'til you said this:

“it doesn’t matter because he’s the most dominant player in the game today.”

-not true. That’s Shaq you’re talking about. Maybe Garnett, Duncan, or AI. Definetly not kobe. 81 points against the suckass raptors means nothing.

81 points means a lot. When was the last time that happened? Over 40 years ago? Regardless of how bad the Raptors were (and they weren’t that bad, considering they scored over 60 points in the first half and were leading by 18 in the 3rd quarter), there isn’t another player in the league who can duplicate what Kobe did.

For those of you who are labeling him as a ball hog, he is only taking that many shots because he has to. And against the Raptors, his team was sucking. It was only natural that Kobe stepped it up, took more shots, and carried his team out of an 18 point deficit in the 3rd quarter. It’s something anybody great players of the past would’ve done, including Michael Jordan. I’ll admit that by the end of the 4th quarter, his team was feeding him the ball, and he was somewhat a “hog.” But at that point, he already had 70 points and was just trying to break 80, which is also understandable.

I personally don’t like Kobe. I was (and still am lol) an MJ fan. However, I give madd props to Kobe for what he did. It might be true that “he is a jerk in real life,” nobody likes him, he raped someone, etc., but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s an amazing basketball player. And considering basketball and basketball alone, he (not Shaq, who scores 18 ppg? or AI - this is your ball hog, or garnett, or duncan) is someone who can lead his team to victory, and the most dominant player in the NBA.
