It’s well known that Korean people have perfected test prep, especially for math, and Kumon is one of the front runners. For that matter, if you live in suburbs of large cities, it’s easy to find test prep outfits run by Korean immigrants and ivy-league graduates/students. Many of them have delivered better results than Kumon, not to mention Kaplan etc, at least based on SAT scores.

Kumon - the word and the company - is Japanese, not Korean. Of course there are probably people of just about every ethnicity owning and working for the franchise, but I just wanted to point that out.
