Kurt Vonnegut has passed away

I’m just creating this thread in the honor of the great Kurt Vonnegut, the satirical writing master, because he unfortunately passed away yesterday due to head injury. If you had like his book(s), then just list your favorite book written by him.

For me, my favorite was Slaughterhouse-5.

Anna Nicole smith passed away long before he did!!

Favorite Book: Cat’s Cradle

Sighs and sheds a silent tear

Curryauralingers–why are you bringing up Anna Nicole Smith’s name in a thread that is honoring a legendary writer? You know what, don’t even answer this question, Vonnegut doesn’t deserve a spammed thread.

Anyone who cares, just continue posting your favorite book by him.

Sorry, can’t post a book b/c I haven’t gotten around to reading any of his works yet. Keep posting and I’ll try my first one based on the majority.

sorry, did u say no spamming? oh ok, it was nice to stop by…

Kurt Vonnegut was an extraordinary writer. It’ll be sad to have him gone. I think my favorite is Slaughterhouse-Five as well. Only read three of his books (the others were Cat’s Cradle and The Sirens of Titan), but I was affected deeply by his work each time I read it.

Ooooh, okay, nevermind, this thread’s a failure. I cannot believe that CC lacks this many Vonnegut fans considering all the nerds that come here. Vonnegut was my second favorite author of all time, first favorite American author, and I thought I had good taste (I guess I’m a nonconformist). Anyways, I just felt a bit bad since I have read 8/14 of his books, and I just automatically kind of made this thread since somebody else made a thread on the writer Ayn Rand, and I thought it would be appropriate. I guess you can spam it or forget it or whatnot. Cya on Tralfamadore!

Oooh, nevermind, spoke too soon, Phedre cares. Yay for Phedre!!!

Rest in peace.

Poo-tee-tweet.

Favorite book is between Cats Cradle and Slaughterhouse-Five. :(

I really liked The Sirens of Titan- more than Slaughterhouse-Five or Cats Cradle. I haven’t read it in awhile, though (awhile = a year, which is far too long, in my opinion =D) I cried at the end… and I NEVER cry about things in books/movies/etc.

Crap! I haven’t read much, but I never get tired of Harrison Bergeron.

Although I’m sorry to admit I just assumed he was already dead. All the other postmodern greats are. He’s probably one of the last of his era.

Ah, Tralfamadore. Slaughterhouse-Five was the shiznit. I forgot all about it until now.

Oh my…

I heard about it and he just started to become one of my favorite authors.
I read Slaughter and a bunch of his essays over the summer and I’m in the middle of Cat’s Cradle.

Player Piano for me. Slaughterhouse-Five was great too.

RIP :(

Cat’s Cradle was a great book. He was a very good author.

I just got back from a two day trip, and a friend called to tell me. I can’t say a favorite- I haven’t read them all, and some I read a while ago. But Cat’s Cradle and Slapstick are up there.
I started shaking when I found out. Just a shaking machine, crying machine.

So it goes, I guess.

Oh goodness, this is a shocker. My school just finished reading Cat’s Cradle after having weeks of long and sometimes heated discussions about it along the way. I started to know the guy inside out, and now I hear this unfortunate news. I am terribly sad.
