<p>I applied to Berk as an LS to pursue solely CS. It is identically similar in the CS courses but what I"ve been wondering about is how different is the counseling between the two departments.</p>
<p>Letters and science has more students while Engineering has less. Does the engineering department give better counseling?</p>
<p>There are two major (heh) categories of advisers: non-faculty advisers, and faculty. Clearly, the CS faculty are identical for LSCS and EECS. Both the EECS and LSCS non-faculty advisers are helpful (I’ve heard good things in particular about the LSCS adviser). So there is pretty much no effective difference.</p>
<p>(Also, LSCS has fewer students than EECS.)</p>
