LA Tech Presidential Scholarship

My niece is a freshman at LA Tech, with a full-ride Presidential Scholarship: http://www.latech.edu/admissions/Scholarship%20updates%20for%20website.pdf</a>. She wasn’t going to take the scholarship, because she didn’t think she would like the school. My brother dragged her from her midwestern home to visit, and my niece loved it. Now in her second quarter, she is extremely happy.

I just wanted to provide encouragement for any of you who need a full ride. The deadline is January 5th, so there is still time to apply!

Thanks for sharing that positive news. My senior has narrowed the decision at this point to LA Tech (Presidential) and Alabama (Presidential), and has visited both schools and really liked both. LA Tech’s offer is very compelling, though (no room and board costs) and the staff and professors there were extremely nice. He has one more visit to Alabama in January and hopefully the decision will be made, but right now, I am not sure what the deciding factor will be. Both schools offer great programs for what he wants to study, and both schools offer a rich sense of history and tradition.

So, yes, students should definitely consider LA Tech - even just getting the Bulldog Out of State, which grants a student in-state tuition, is nice, because tuition and room and board are already lower than expected.

Wow awesome! Congrats to her!
