When looking for classes (such as intro to Calc) with lab components, does one have to take a lab matching the section (if I’m in math 101L and I sign up for section 1 which meets in the morning, does my lab also have to be section 1?)

IIRC (and ACES may have changed since my time at Duke), the only time when lab/recitation sections are tied with particular lecture sections are when the lecture sections cannot be selected by themselves in the system.

What I mean is that there are some lectures where the only way you can bookbag them is to select a recitation or lab section that is “bundled” with it. That tells you that you have to pick certain sections for lab or recitation if you want that lecture.

Otherwise, if you can bookbag the lecture and lab sections separately, then there are no restrictions except that you must have all the components of a course (eg lecture, recitation, and/or lab) to get the course credit.
