Lack of Physics

If this post is in the wrong section, sorry :(.

Basically, my question is this:
What’s more important? To show that I’m really good at one thing (humanities/social sciences) or breadth (showing that I can do/know physics too)?

I’m a prospective history/English major at (hopefully) an Ivy (or colleges of that tier) or liberal arts schools (Swarthmore, Wesleyan, etc).

I’ve NEVER taken physics in high school, and I only have two years of science under my belt (biology and chemistry honors, both of which I’ve done well in). The rest of my course load is competitively heavy and so are my extracurricular. But overall, I guess it looks like I’ve been avoiding sciences as though I’m not good at them.

But I know I’m not, and I know that I could do physics. The only thing is that for incredibly stupid reasons because of the school administration and a mistake on my part, I’ve never taken physics.

I’m considering taking Physics at a community college, but my main question is whether to take it first or second semester. The good thing about taking Physics first semester is that colleges will see that I’ve taken it and that I can do it, but the bad thing is that I might be living like a ghost for the first semester due to the ungodly (not really, but still) hours of the physics course and last-minute testing and college applications. In fact, I don’t even know if I can handle it at all while still keeping everything up to standard (think CC standards).

If I end up taking Physics at a community college second semester instead of first, I would be taking World Lit. and Global Studies at the community college instead. They’re online courses, so I could handle them a lot better. Still, I realize how important Physics is and I’m worried that me merely writing down that I’ll be taking physics second semester will just look like a lie (even though it completely isn’t, since I genuinely want to learn physics for the sake of not being too ignorant).

So do you think it’s THAT important that I show that I’m currently taking Physics (I’m applying to a school early) or is it good enough to just write that I’m going to be taking it second semester?

Sorry this is so long and wordy :(.
And if anyone replies, thanks! This has been plaguing my college thoughts (which consist of most of my thoughts recently) for awhile now, and I really don’t know what to do :(!
