Ladie's jeans with no stretch?

MOfWC, those Madewell jeans are super cool. I generally like Madewell stuff, so I am tempted to give them a try.

Expensive too. Yikes!

I don’t think that is too expensive for quality jeans. I had 30% off the ones I recently ordered with a coupon email they sent.

Gloria Vanderbilt jeans are a bit higher rise… It not all the way to the waist. They so have a tad of spandex in them but I never have had an issue with them gaining two sizes in a day…or even one. They are really a deal too…$15 or $16 at Costco. They have both regular denim in a variety of colors…and cords too. They sometimes have short, and tall in addition to the regular length.

thumper1-I forgot about those! You’re correct-they do NOT “grow” a size AND, best of all, come in SHORT, which I am! And of course, there is always Costco’s great customer service if you don’t like them once you get home.

I’ve had luck with Eddie Bauer’s StayShape jeans. (Btw, they’re on sale for Columbus Day.)

For you thriftshoppers out there like me, at a trip to Value Village the other day I saw the Talbots’ jeans I mentioned above (same size, though, so I couldn’t buy them), the Eddie Bauer’s, LL Bean, and Land’s End, all in 100% cotton, all in excellent condition, none more than $12.99. I also saw many, many pair of the Gloria Vanderbilt, I assume because they are so affordable more people buy them. Those ALL were in good shape-i.e. no stretching. And today is Monday, so Goodwill has their color tags sale for under $2 an item today, and VV will also have a color tag markdown, for 50% off.

Thanks for the Madewell tip. I have some NYDJ I like, but absolutely must wear a belt with them. They feel great and stay up about long enough for me to get downstairs and then remember I forgot the belt. Other than that they work out fine.

Yea, I’m a very budget-conscious spender for jeans and love the GV that I’ve bought at Costco. I love that they are under $20 and generally fit me pretty well, even tho the sizing is sometimes a bit erratic (I fit the 4, 6 and 8 and they all look identical). Good price and fits my needs well, especially the short (which generally have to be mail-ordered as our store doesn’t bring them in).

Sign up for Madewell emails. They do actually offer a lot of sales and sometimes GREAT deals on clearance - everytime I see an email noting “extra 30-50% off clearance and free shipping” I can be sure that my D’s are clicking through with an order!!

Wow, thanks for all the great ideas!

Even though I’ve lost 25 pounds over the past year I’m wary of anything labeled “super skinny”, But that Madewell website has it right - the higher rise makes your legs look longer. Plus I’m long waisted and low rise pants sit farther down my body than on most people.

FYI, since we were talking about Madewell jeans on this thread, Madewell has an extra 40% off sale items today - here’s a direct link to the “high rise” skinny jeans, but there are many more styles on sale - remember that the price shown is not the final price -take an extra 40% off!

A few people mentioned Land’s End. If anyone wants to give their jeans a try, today might be a good day to order. They are offering 40% off one regular item. code: pumpkin pin:4606

Thanks to everyone who added - I spent this afternoon checking out the jeans at Eddie Bauer. Most were high spandex content but found a couple of contenders
Funny discovery, many of the new “superdistressed” jeans have pre applied “back up patches” to the very ripped up denim thighs. Like your mama already sewed blue plaid where you fake paid to have your jeans wear out in areas where jeans don’t really wear out.

Oh good grief?
