“I’m not a fan of grown ups wearing leotard/onsie style clothing. I guess it’s easier to perform in it … but then male performers should try it as well.”
Okay by me. I have no problem with that.

she was off (a fraction…) enough to show that she was actually singing. she’s really good.
Some pretty athletic moves tonight! I’m not a huge fan but was impressed by the whole show tonight.
@jym626 She look awesome in everything, no doubt about that.
Loved her performance. She is an interesting, very talented person and I enjoyed seeing the rebroadcast of the CBS Sunday Morning interview with her this morning. I would guess she has probably had a tough few months after the end of her engagement to Taylor Kinney, who she had been with for five years. This was a triumph.
I like her music. I have no idea how anyone can listen to her and say she’s not that talented. There are lots of people I don’t like but can absolutely acknowledge that they’re incredible musicians. Prince is one. Not my cup of tea but to say he wasn’t incredibly talented would be an “alternative fact.”
I was hoping she’d be more overtly political but it was a very very good show imo.
If you want to know if Gaga is a real talent, do a quick you tube search if some of her morning radio broadcasts where it’s just her freshly rolled out of bed) and a piano. Prior to be introduced to her this way I thought she was a Madona wanna be. These videos blew my mind and changed how I feel about her musically. She’s the real deal - here’s a couple to get you started:
Lady Gaga is a tremendously talented singer, songwriter and entertainer. She is also very smart. Smart enough to create a halftime show that is entertaining without being overtly political. She was able to pull that off in a brilliantly subtle way.
Infowars was reporting that she was going to perform a Satanic ritual onstage. Guess I must have missed that.
I thought she put on a great show and her political views were VERY subtle–the Woody Guthrie reference and Born This Way was all I picked up.
Chiming in to agree with others that I can understand “not my cup of tea” but “not talented” is just factually wrong. I mean, I don’t like last night’s winning quarterback, but I’d be crazy to call him 'untalented."
I thought she was great! I was in awe of her fearlessness, too.
Thought the performance was awesome!
It amazes me how many of us can be so picky judgmental while we are sitting on the couch.
Gaga’s songs have always had a message - so last night was just another night that she spread those messages - they were pertinent 2, 4, 6 years ago, they are pertinent now.
Great show. She did a great job.
And last year…she sat at a piano in a red suit…and played and sang the national anthem prior to the super bowl game. That was awesome too.
fantastic, i love her music and i loved the show. @techmom99, i also thought we might see tony bennett come out, but there was just that little teaser shot of him at the beginning. the lights were also amazing…a feat of computer programming for sure.
New world tour announced!!
Lady GaGa has a classically trained voice. She really is a talented singer.
Guess news stations reported she was going to “make a statement” .
I always thought her only statement would be to put on the most entertaining show she possibly could and I was right. . She’s a great performer.
She is talented, most of the pop performers are the beneficiary of auto tune and the production engineer, you can tell that when you hear them attempt the national anthem which most wouldn’t dare lip sync it. Lady Gaga is a funny kind of hybrid, she does all the glitz and flash of the typical pop performer these days, when it is as much about the stage show as the singing, but she is genuinely musically talented, she is an excellent jazz pianist and singer, and has a professionally trained voice, took lessons from when she was young. Sure, her personna is whacky and out there, but that doesn’t change that unlike many of the pop stars, she actually has talent, rather than it being the choreographers and production engineers and songwriters and the person who invented Auto Tune (did that person ever win a Grammy Award? They should dedicate a whole ceremony to him/her).
“I will say that my 20 year old son, a big country fan, asked why Tony Bennett hadn’t sung at least one song with her.”
They did a whole album together of Jazz standards, the videos are on You Tube, and she more than holds her own, there are also some live performances of them doing the duets. I think it came out last year or the year before, I have it on Vinyl.
Not trying to start anything!
But for anyone thinking Gaga did not send a message with her song choices, you weren’t listening - not last night, not the last several years of Gaga. I’m all in favor of it. All in favor of songs that send a message, give an opinion.
“With such a clear message of optimism and acceptance, Gaga’s performance didn’t need to be an outright protest. She let her songs do the talking.”

When Tony Bennett’s Duets II album came out, I played his duet with Gaga for my Ds in the car (*The Lady Is A Tramp *). They couldn’t guess whose voice that was, and when I told them, they couldn’t believe it. She can sing just about any genre.
