Lake Tahoe Skiing- suggestions needed

Oh yum!! Ate at brix and mustards when in napa many moons ago. Tonight is sushi organized by Menloparkmom. Thanks, menlo!

Oh my!! What a view! At the Hilton union sq. 40 th floor corner suite. And free! No complaints

And a balcony too!! You were right shrinkrap. Its absolutely fine

Look out for Critical Mass! Last Friday of the month, a massive bike ride thru the City…route never announced, but they start down by Justin Herman Plaza/Embarcadero area. Impressive to see, but many car drivers not amused…

^^^^^^arrrghhhhh!!! just what I dont need!
thanks for the heads up!

Website says Justin Herman Plaza at the foot of Market St. Is that an issue?

Thank you THANK YOU all you wonderfully helpful cc’ers whose suggestions, pointers, tips, traffic warnings, skiing recommendations etc made for a spectacular time. The week flew by too fast. As for the food, we"ll not likely treat ourselves again anytime soon like we did in healdsburg But for the rare treat it was divine.

Sorry , didn’t finish. For those who asked, both Cyrus and madrona manor were incredible, and the presentations were spectacular, but truth be told we preferred madrona manor’s meal as many of their items were grown right there and all the
wine pairings were to display local wineries. And the chef was self taught they had great stories about him .Cyrus was richer in terms of the staff and knowledge of the sommelier, and many of the wines are ones we would never ever have had, and probably never will again because of their limited availability. Oh and our main server was from a town 15 minutes from us! Too funny

I almostt didn’t read this thread, but I am glad I did.

Jym626… Nice…you went to Healdsburg…

And you ate at great restaurants too.

Soozievt’s daughter is going to Berkeley…I had no idea. Sweet.

Xiggi still lives in the bay area…and not Texas. :)

Three FEET of new snow in Tahoe… Now its my time…

Sorry jym… but you had fun…!

LOL, enjoy it, artlovers!! I am geting front and backchannel messages about the snow dump in Tahoe!! I gues I woulda needed those )($#*$)$)W&^ chains if I was there this week!
Well, at least my s and his gf can enjoy the conditions as they have some tickets to Kirkwood they bought on a two-for deal. I really cant complain, the weather was glorious when we were there. Loved every minute of our trip. Thanks again to all my cc buddies for the tips. I am accepting handouts to help defray the cost of those dinners in Healdsburg, though. OUCH on the bills!

And the weather today is yucky compared to last weekend, at least if you are not skiing.

two blue bird days in a row. snow is good, weather is warm, not even a cloud in the sky. how can you get wrong.

we took the normal ride. Started before 8am, parked in front of the Far East lift, took the red dog face to kt22, then we are in business. down the 75 chute before its been ripped up. headwall is not open then, so we took another run on the west face. Today too many races were on, the best was the Bonsai race from top of kt22 to the bottom. Fastest Snowboarders took 2.36 min, but skiers are much faster at 1.32 min.

good thing is oly lady is open and no lines. We took several runs on that, don’t care about the lines at the top mountain.

Afternoon was very warm, I was over heated. Had to take down a Frappachino from the Starbuck at the mid mountain. Its the first ski-in ski-out Starbuck I have ever been. :)

Sounds like a great day on the slopes, AL. My knees hurt just thinking about it :frowning: They still haven’t recovered from the few days of skiing.

Tonight I saw Earl Klugh in concert, and inthe second half he had a surprise guest-- Peabo Bryson. Great concert. But my knees still hurt.

The couple we were with are heading out to SF. I got to sound so educated telling them all the places in Sonoma to see and eat :)
