Lake Tahoe Skiing- suggestions needed

This weekend, my kid will be at Diamond Peak (at Tahoe) on the NV side.

Any snow???

artlovers-
what happened to that hilton link?

Light snow!

[Lake Tahoe Weather Forecast and Conditions](Lake tahoe, CA Weather Forecast and Conditions - The Weather Channel | Weather.com)

But some rain forecasted…that could be in Trukee.better to get the conditions at the actual mountain.

they are predicting only a total of 10-12 inches total over the next 5 days, then another dry spell…

Arghhh! Do I REALLY have to turn on the sprinklers in January?

IDK, but just go to the Hilton web site and search for Tahoe and y will get all the properties.

holly smoke!!! I was at the Hilton web site yesterday, the cost per room was $129/night for Hampton Inn, Truckee. This morning, at 7am, after the first drop of rain in the bay area, the price went up to $184… for the same bed.

Hmmm… the person who had availability with a condo that would work for us hasn’t contacted me back since yesterday… Might be back to the drawing board…

What level is that Hampton inn? We got points to use…

Have not been to the Truckee one, generally they are pretty good, nothing fancy the basics are all there.

Nothing to do with the snow or rain. The internet found out that Jym was confirmed for that week in Tahoe. The groupies all want to be there when the East Coast stars arrive. :)

Fwiw, it might be a good idea to block a couple of cancellable hotel rooms in addition to live and die with the vagaries of working out a condo deal.

PS For Jym dates, she will need a TON of points for that Hampton Inn. The rate will be much higher than 184 a night too.

Did finally hear back from the woman with the condo and am hoping to finalize today as she juggles 2 reservations that week. Any tips for discount lift tickets and rentals?

We probably could use points for the Hampton Inn. We have a TON of points, with all the travel my DH did.

Now on to looking into all your wonderful tips for Heraldsburg and Sonoma.

Lucky’s supermarkets in the Bay Area (not in Tahoe) and REI both sell discounted lift tickets. Discounted Heavenly and Northstar can be purchased online. [Heavenly Ski Resort | Tahoe Vacation Packages | http://www.skiheavenly.com](http://www.skiheavenly.com)

Another site with discounted tickets, although I’ve never used it, is [Liftopia - Lift Tickets Online - Discount Ski Lift Tickets](http://www.liftopia.com/)

Some snow last night and this morning, looks like chains are required on I-80 and US-50. Did you check out the webcams I posted a few pages ago?

Thanks all. My lodging just got screwed up again. Stay tuned…

I see snow on those webcams, vballlmom!! Now if I could only get my lodging squared away…

My daughter is in Truckee now. Last night was a mix (inc. rain) but today is snow…expecting six inches.

Website and vball’s webcams show… SNOW!!! Yay!! (Unfortunately, there is also snow in NY further screwing up the finishing up of the sale of my late dad’s house, but that’s another story).

So it looks like we were able to get a great deal on a 2 br condo just a block or so from the base! Was a bit challenging but all has worked out. Will now have DS look into tickets at the stores (thanks again everyone). Now-- any recommendations for rentals?

Now onto the plans for Heraldsburg. Thanks again everyone!

How’s your daughter feeling, sooz?

Oh, and liftopia doesn’t have any tix for squaw available for those days :frowning: But thanks, vballmom.

Whats the story with the chains? We rented a 4wd/awd for the week (free, with hertz points  )

And apologies for typos-- I meant Healdsburg. Will be looking into that, or the coastal drive. But for now, off to the gym!

How long will it take us to get to Sonoma/Healdsburg/Amador from Squaw?
