Unfortunately, it’s very hard to answer this question. It’s much less about your specific statistics and much more about the overall enrollment, and if either school has fewer acceptances than expected. Both of the schools are pretty good at estimating, and I it’s not a strict list - they will be thoughtful about the demographics of the students who didn’t accept, etc. Lakeside at least doesn’t waitlist just to be nice – it’s a small list in general – but there is no public data on how many students are admitted from the lists. Note that the calls can come late - like right before the school year starts.

I hope you have other choices you’re excited about. Good luck!

The WL is not like alternates for a relay team where the fastest alternate gets selected if someone on the team is injured.

It is, instead, a pool of candidates for the school to go to in order to complete their class with the make-up they want.

If they need boys to maintain gender parity, you’re out of luck. If they need girls, it’ll depend on what you bring (arts, cultural background) relative to what they need to fill.

While I am not familiar with what these 2 schools do in particular, most will do a first round of WL calls after deposits are due. This is to complete the class. Many will then ask (or you can ask them) if you can stay on the extended WL. Opportunities may arise - as late as a week before school starts - because a student gets very ill, the family moves, or they get off an extended WL elsewhere (maybe BS), and the school may want to fill this space.

None of this is about how good you are - just what the school needs at that point.
