Language program for upcoming high school sophmores?

Hello, I’m new here, so I apologize if I’m posting in the wrong place.

I’m 15 and am going to be a sophmore next year. I’m interested in taking Italian over the summer, and self studying Spanish. (I’ve been taking Laitn in school for the past two years and know Farsi/Persian fluently.) I live in Northern Virginia, so I called the community college NOVA and they said you have to be 16 to register for courses.

Does anybody know where would be a good place to take a language? (Any price for them would be okay, at this point I’m desperate)
Thanks!

Welcome! Bienvenue! Willkommen! Bienvenido! Yes, this is the right place :).

I think you’re out of luck for this summer–it’s quite late, so all the language camps’ deadlines have long passed, and as you’re fifteen, you probably won’t have as many opportunities at colleges and whatnot.

You could try either a learn-at-home program (like Rosetta Stone, but cheaper, maybe?) or check if other colleges in your area–or even those far away but offering online courses–might accept fifteen-year-olds.

If cost is not an issue, check out Concordia Language Villages.

There is a one month high school credit program and a two week program (both start later in the summer). Can’t tell if there are any slots open, you would need to call them to see. These camps are really fun. My kids went for a lot of years (other languages, not Italian). The Hackensack location is really “summer campy” (I like it better than the Bemidji location, it has a lot of nice big pine trees and a better beach).
