Language requirements?

My HS system doesn’t offer any form of foreign language. Will this have negetive impact on my application?

If you’re not able to take them then that should probably be explained in your application. Is there any other way you can pick one up though? (local community college, independent study, self-taught?)

No. There’s no system in my community.

But I’ve

4 years of english and

4 years of mother language with literature.

And my transcript has

4 years of physics, chemistry, biology.

4 years of general math and 2 years of advance math.

2 years of social science

2 years of another subject

All of these science subjects followed same syllabus of IB.

Should my counselor indicate that? I really need to sort this out. And I can’t take a language course.

Most schools seem to have at least a 2 year foreign language requirement… I would check into taking it online.

When you say “4 years of mother language with literature”, is that a language other than English?

If so, you have nothing to worry about.

^ I’d assume not since usually literature is short for English Literature. Also he brought up the thread because he hasn’t taken foreign language. I’d go for some online courses to get 2 years if I were you drexter

Looking at their posting history, the OP is an Intl. applicant; a fact that would be helpful to post whenever asking for input.

^no. My mother language has it’s own literature. And it’s not english.

And, I can speak spanish . I learned that my own. But i don’t have any certificates of that!

And what about IB?

As an international student in a non-English speaking country - English is your foreign language - if you are bilingual (English + native language) that should meet any foreign language requirements.
