I took french for 3 years in high school…did well in it but opted out of a 4th year in ordre to take ap bio…but i really want to take a new language that would b more applicable to me…such as Latin…but would this class be too difficult for me to take brand new in College?

This would be the type of question you should review with your advisor. I think French might be best but perhaps kids that are majoring in Pre-Med or BIO might be taking Latin for the first time too. See what they say at BU since you don’t want to pull down your GPA.

Japanese or Italian? i heard both the language’s professors are really chill. what do you think would benefit me more in the future and hopefully be easier?

Any romance language would be easier than Japanese . That doesn’t mean; however, that Italian is more important than Japanese. In terms of usefulness for business and politics and whatever, Japanese is probably most important. But in terms of chatting with hot guys and experiencing an amazing country, take Italian. If you are up for a challenge, you should take Japanese. …if you want to stick to a language that your more familiar with, take Italian. I’m guessing you have taken Spanish before (as most high school students do), if that’s the case, Italian should be pretty easy to learn. .

hey i was reading that they say to take the Language diagnostic exam if you “want” to pursue a foreign language… honestly i enjoyed french but i really would rather use my credits towards a diff class… do you think this is true…im in SMG as i previously stated… could i skip a foreign language?

Unless you’re an IM concentrator, foreign language isn’t required for SMG (keep in mind, though, that it may be required if you minor in something in another college or BUCOP).

yeahh i am asian. i took spanish for four years and absolutely hated it cause my parents made me take it. i took japanese for a year but i wasn’t so big on kanji cause i don’t know. i guess that’s the only part where i had to try and i think japanese would be more helpful in the future BUT

i love italy. i love italian culture. i love italian guys. haha… ugh. i hate deciding about these things
