I’m intersted to see if this will provide a cursory sense of the sort of college that might be right for me.</p>

<p>A great place for running (wonderful running weather), local food, the arts and hearing people’s stories is San Francisco. Not sure about languages, though. So maybe University of San Francisco or San Francisco State. Other choices would be Occidental or LMU in LA, University of San Diego, University of Oregon, Oregon State, Tulane, University of Arizona, College of Charleston, American.</p>

<p>I would look at schools in big cities otherwise you wont have much access to arts. Cities with a lot of immigrants would offer most exposure to languages. What language are you interested in?</p>
<p>well that’s comforting, since i don’t think i’d be able to live anywhere that wasn’t a big city! i’ve already looked into schools in new york city, since i live right by there (and it really is the ultimate for the arts, i think). i really really liked columbia/barnard, so i plan on applying to one or both at this point (i’ve got time to decide!). i didn’t like NYU though; it was too spread out for me. i’m not really concerned about finding the languages i’m interested in, since they’re not really that obscure (french, italian, spanish, german). i’m willing to go anywhere in the country; i don’t really care about how far away or close to home i am. so, i’d be willing to look into school in/around san francisco as well! it’s also not at all urgent that i figure this all out now; i’m only a sophomore. i just wanted to see if i’d get any interesting responses.</p>
<p>aside from west coast, consider Philly and DC. Both interesting cities with a lot to do. and easy to get to from NYC via Amtrak.</p>
