Because my father and most of my family are Iranian, I grew up hearing Farsi and often speaking it. However, I am not sure how far they expect me to go regarding “fluency”. I can only speak it, and I definitely do not know everything(my mother is American and English is definitely my first language). However I can hold a decent conversation in Farsi, and I would like to put this down as hopefully it will spice up my application a little bit. Will they test me on this or anything if I put down that I can speak Farsi on my application? I am terrified that when pressured I would fail any type of verbal test miserably. Please let me know! Thanks!

bump…

I’d elide “conversant” to “fluent,” yeah, and include it in the language section. Although don’t put down that you can read and write it if you can’t.
