Before your student gets to freshman orientation, talk to him or her about keys and security and what goes on the lanyard. You don’t want to discover that your home key has gone missing or other things that your kid carries on his or her keychain are now out ther at large.
Filter it down.

Be sure to tell your kids not to put their room number/home address on their keys. You’d be amazed at how many college kids don’t know this.

S’s school uses electronic key/scanner things. He did manage to get locked out of the dorm one night in his boxers (why he was outdoors in his boxers, I don’t know). He didn’t use a lanyard, though think he will this year.

ya I think Ds school uses the same card for the dorm/meals/library- some schools even use it for the laundry!
( they still need their room key - that is if they lock it)

and you don’t want to. Think postive - it was some kind of bet…

My school uses hotel-like cards for rooms, meals…and I think laundry/bookstore. It’s actually pretty cool. ^^

They pretty much all work like that…multipurpose. The lanyard seems to work especially when you are wearing boxers without pockets…:)
