Laptop Backpack and Sleeve

so i have a north face surge ii backpack and a colcasac sleeve for my 15" retina mb , was wondering if the sleeve is needed or should i return it and get the $30 back

This is likely a question that you’ll be better able to answer than anyone on here.

Slide the laptop into the backpack…and see if it looks secure enough. I have a dedicated laptop bag, but I often carry my laptop in my backpack without a sleeve.

my north face bag has a space specially dedicated for the laptop , and the sleeve is getting on my nerves cause its so compact , i also have a hard case on my laptop , so what is your opinion

My backpack has a dedicated spot for a laptop. I have a macbook air. I put the MBA in a laptop sleeve to protect it from bumps/scratches/rain(if no umbrella). If you already have a hardshell on your MBP then I would return the sleeve. It is all personal preference.
