Macbook Pro vs Pc + Xbox360

ehhh… The Macbook is reliable, but the PC is a lot cheaper. I wouldn’t get a PC just because of the Xbox, especially if you’re going to transfer. If you have the money, go with the Mac.

@mermaker thx for the advice. r u a mac user? ^_^

There’s nothing wrong with getting a MacBook Pro, but at the same time there’s no reason a Windows computer can’t be reliable. If the money doesn’t matter, just get whichever operating system you like more and/or are more accustomed to.

PC Pros:
-Potentially better specs for cheaper
-Larger variety (you can choose what you want your PC to have)
-Easier to repair (If one of the parts in your laptop needs replacement, most brands make it easy for you to switch out the parts.)
- More customizable OS (Not as customizable as Linux, but more customizable than Macs).
- Due to a larger market share of Windows computers, you’ll find WAY more programs compatible to the Windows operating system than Macs.
-Gaming. Forget the Xbox 360. No offense to the console gamers out there but PC gaming is superior to console gaming in my opinion.

PC Cons:
-Due to a larger market share, more virus’ will be coded for the Windows operating system
-Because there is such a large variety of computer models, customer service can potentially be a head ache.
- Windows is not as secure as Mac OSX.
-Ecosystem is not that organized.

Mac Pros:
- More secure
- Less virus’ are coded for it (Macs DO get virus’. Don’t believe people who say otherwise).
- Potentially higher resolution screens.
- Macs are starting to shift to the SSD/Flash storage standard which have less space but is much faster and quieter than the traditional HDD. So with the Flash storage/SSDs your computer will boot up and shut down quicker and files will be opened and closed faster. (PC’s can also have SSD’s but I don’t know many models that come standard with them. ***** is expensive).
- The Apple ecosystem is very organized so if you have an iPhone or iPad, you can easily switch between them using the iCloud.
-Apple’s customer service is pretty good. If you have something wrong with your mac, its nice to be able to take it to an Apple store and have the problem diagnosed for free.
-Mac app store
-thunderbolt ports: An innovation by intel and Apple, its a port (like USB) where you can transfer files and data at a much faster rate than through USB.
-Can run Windows OS on the Mac through Parallels or boot camp.

Mac Cons:
-Expensive
- Weaker specs
- Not easy to repair. Once your Apple warranty is done, they will try to empty your wallet with ridiculous repair costs. The repairs are relatively easy to do yourself but Apple is starting to solder their parts into the machine so soon, you won’t be able to. (If you end up getting a Mac, I recommend getting the Apple care. You can get it for cheap on ebay. It extends your warranty to 3 years since you bought the computer).
- Apple’s low relative market share makes it hard to find places other than the Apple store to get your Mac repaired.
- Gaming is inferior.
- Usually has less ports than PCs (for example, the Macbooks have 2 USB 3.0 ports while PC laptops usually have 3 or 4).
- Optical drives are being taken out. There in no optical drive on the Macbook Air or the Macbook pro with retina, so you will need to purchase a external superdrive. The Original Macbook Pro’s have optical drives though–not sure for how much longer.
