Laptop Question

Hello all and thxs in advance for helping me out here. I will be attending Cornell next year as an architecture student and I was wondering whether any of you are aware of minimum and recommended requirements/specs that the laptop I plan on buying should have? Definitely don’t want to have a laptop that cannot run all the appropriate architecture software I will need to use. Thxs again.

but something cheap and crappy … then, buy an awesome one for your 3rd year as an architecture student. This way, you don’t spend a ton of money for an outdated machine.

thxs for your post gomestar. Any former/current arch. student have a suggestion for recommended specs though? I still don’t want to make a poor first choice.

you wont need it for anything architecture … there’s computers in the shop with all of the high end programs you’ll need. The only one that may be of help to you is photoshop, but it’s far from a requirement and every computer in the shop is loaded with it.

My gf is in architecture, yet her laptop is used nearly exclusively for internet, word, and iTunes.
