Laptop suggestions for a biomedical engineer

  • don't really care about the weight
  • don't really care about the OS (I've used Fedora / OSX / Win.)
  • budget of $1500

any suggestions?

Ask your school first. Lenovo Thinkpads are generally solid bets, as are Macbooks.

I concur. Thinkpad or Macbook Pro are the best options in that price range. Either will work well. Thinkpads also play well with Linux (since you mentioned Fedora). I used Ubuntu all through college with no problems (neuroscience major, did research in a lab with a lot of bioengineers).

@nanotechnology went with a Thinkpad T550. thanks for the advice!
