<p>How useful is it to have a laptop for HMC? Would you recommend buying one? I’m debating whether or not to buy one as I already have a desktop.</p>
<p>I do not have a laptop. I bought a new iMac when I came to Mudd. You’ll find that the first year you probably don’t necessarily need a laptop unless you really want to type stuff up outside.</p>
<p>My advice is to come…scope out how much you might want it and if you want/need it buy one. That way, you get to have the latest laptop and your sure that you really need it.</p>
<p>If you are going into engineering, a laptop would be helpful starting sophomore year. Again, you have time to decide.</p>
