"Large Discrepancy"

So, I live in Oklahoma, where the cutoff for NM is really low. Low enough that I might be able to make it in. (207 last year; I made a 209). My question is, since I’m going to end up taking the SAT anyway, what score on my SAT would I have to make not to move on (assuming I do move on)? Is there some magic number that the National Merit people look for? If I have a 209, are they going to be expecting around a 2090?

I’m worried because I only missed 2 on PSAT math (73), but on the practice SAT’s, I’ve been faring much worse (630/700), even though I’m in AP Calc. Reading’s been a disaster, too. :'(

So, If I did worse, say 1900-2000 on my SAT’s, would they care?

Thanks,
Andrew

Two years ago, I called the Natl Merit folks to ask that question. At that time they were looking for a 1300-1350 on the 1600 scale. Relax, do you best & don’t worry about it.
