last chance act study tips

I’m taking the ACT in October for the third time and I’m trying to improve from a 28. Ideally, I want/need at least a 31. I didn’t really study for the last two tests, and I’m interested to hear what people used and what worked the best (Khan Academy, practice test, Barron’s book… etc)

Any suggestions?

How about just studying?

I’m not really sure what you’re expecting. The ACT is a few weeks away, but it sounds like you haven’t done much studying yet. You admit that you didn’t really study for your first 2 tests. Don’t expect your C28 to magically improve to C31+ without studying.

Try to use real ACT material. You can find plenty of material online.

If you’re going to use third party material like Kaplan, Princeton Review, Barron’s, use it only for test taking strategies. Don’t use it for testing yourself. They’re not accurate.

Also, don’t use Khan Academy because it’s strictly an SAT resource.

Good luck!

I actually didn’t study at all for the previous tests and I know what I have to get on the next one to get into Michigan (at least 31) but thanks

My daughter is using the prepscholar online program and likes it. It sets up lessons for you each weeks based off your diagnostic screening. They recommend you need 40 hours in prep for the act, so I’d get started right away.

Whatever the name for the program name is is censored. Try typing it l i k e t h i s please
