Last-minute hints as the Dec 1 deadline approaches

-If the online app won’t submit, keep trying - the middle of the night and early morning hours on the 1st are the best bet. While trying over and over to submit, print out a pdf of the app and fill it out to FAX or mail with a 12/1 postmark (thanks to bbgg for this good idea). You have until 11:59pm Pacific on the 1st to submit, and until 5pm on the first to get a postmark from your post office (check your local post office’s hours - some may vary).

-If the FAX machines don’t work (they may be overloaded today - the middle-of-the-night advice applies to FAXing as well), put a stamp on the supplemental materials and include a self-addressed, stamped postcard so you will know it was received.

-If you JUST realized you need to submit recommendations, test scores, transcripts and cannot get them in by the 1st, please find the *“Answer to Is December 1st really the deadline for everything” *thread. Read it. Get your online app in NOW and everything else AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

-Those of you who have already submitted and sent everything in, jump in and help out those in a panic - you have months of waiting ahead of you, so you might as well start bonding now. I am busy until 10 tonight, so I need you to pass on the expertise you have gathered in the last several weeks!

Good luck to ALL!

alamemom

I nominate alamemom for president of the world!!

Good evening!

You kids are doing a GREAT job of answering all the questions!!! I am so proud.

Keep at it - get those apps in!

P.S. Thanks, madbean  :)

@alamemom — I am unclear about this. I have not hit submit to the part 2. But I saw a message that I also need to print the forms and either fax or mail to USC???

No, you do not have to FAX or mail. That piece of advice is ONLY if your are unable to submit because the system is going so slowly and some are having trouble submitting.

If you are able to submit online, there is no need to FAX or mail an application.

Oh, I think the online-message also says so. or maybe I was too panic.
could you please confirm if I am able to submit on line, I do not need to do anything. USC has my alll supporting doc already (SAT, rec, transcripts…)

alamemom, what do I do if the font is huge (size 40)? Should I wait to submit my application? I have tried reloading the activity summary but the font stays large.

Well, this is a question I have not seen before!

Hmm… No, don’t wait to send in your application. Get it in by the deadline. If you can’t find a way to fix the font (I don’t have access to an application, so I’m no help - but maybe another applicant can come up with something?) put a giant 40-font note in that section saying you had formatting problems and that you are FAXing or mailing (your choice) your activity sheet. Then submit your application on time.

getin - if you can submit online, you don’t have to FAX or mail the application - that is a last-ditch plan if you can’t submit online.

Current contact info:

[USC Undergraduate Admission - Admission Counselor](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/contact/index.html)

Thanks so much alamemom! Your wisdom just gave me a massive sense of relief.

Does anyone know if the MD program applications are also due at this time?

yes, the Bacc/MD applications are due Dec 1 as well. Applicants have posted that they have no “submit” button and have contacted USC about it - USC says that they will download the info in the Bacc/MD application form on the 1st, and the “submit” button is not needed. That is the extent of my info on Bacc/MD - Good luck!

Goodnight, kids! Keep working on getting the apps in, and don’t panic - just think it through. Remember that USC WANTS you to apply and is really very flexible about how most things get to them. GOOD LUCK!!!

hey alamemom. just a last minute problem. I am an international student and am doing my GCE A-Levels (Cambridge university certified). In the “courses and grades” part of the undergrad application II, I just select and 9th grade and input None in course name and N/A in the grade right??
for example:-
category: eng, literature, composition
school name: blah blah blah
term: 1
Course name: “NONE”
Grade: “N/A”

and I just save it?? no need to enter the 10th 11th and 12th grades?? I have already sent my recommendations and transcripts to USC by the way.

Please help. only 11.5 hours LEFT!!
thanks.

omairwasti: I’m trying to remember since it was 4 years ago when I did this, but put down your GCSE (or equivalent) grades for 9th/10th grades and then your predicted grades for AS/A Levels in 11th and 12th grade.

I can’t even sign into USConnect…

omairwasti, I am glad cynicalowl is here to help you, because I am not familiar with any of that. Good luck!
