Last minute questions - Plan II

Is the Plan II World Lit class a 6 hour class? It has a 6 in the course number, which is what made me think it might be. If so, it looks like it only meets 2x per week, so how can it be a 6 hour class? The other Plan II required class appears to be a 3 hour class. If I am understanding this correctly, then 9 hours of the 1st semester are in the Plan II major. Is this correct?

Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to go to a Plan II information session where this would probably have been addressed.

It’s a year long course.

I’m sorry to be so dense, but does that mean it’s like taking one 3 hour course during each semester, so that you can add another 4 courses each semester? Or is it like taking 2, 3 hour courses each semester, so that you can take only 3 additional classes?

It’s 603A and 603B. It’s essentially dividing up the 6 hours into two semesters.

I don’t know what you been by “add another 4 courses each semester”

But World Lit is a 3 hour class each semester.

Thanks, that answers my question. Sorry for being so unclear.

btw–the reason I was so confused is because on the pickaprof scheduler it shows up as 6 hours each semester, so that if you took 4 other classes, you would end up with 18 or more hours. But since it is only 3 hours, my son can take 4 more three hour courses and still have only 15 hours. I don’t know if that makes sense, either…

Your son?

It’s great to see parents involved and caring about their kids, but really, do your kid a favor and let them do the college thing.

Tw1007, May 1st is looming and my son is still undecided. He left the house early this morning, went to school, to work, back to school and got home after 9 p.m. He will do the same thing tomorrow. Finals are next week, and he has a paper due. He doesn’t have time right now to do thorough background research. So I am doing it. The last thing I want is for him to make a costly, uninformed decision.
Today, I was comparing class availability, research opportunities, ease of changing majors and adding 2nd majors. Luckily, I was able to get this information to hand to my son tonight.
