My son is waiting to hear from Ivy schools and Stanford. He has a 3.97 and 33 ACT composite. He wants to pursue engineering and physics. For his last semester in high school, he wants to switch an elective. From a business class to being a TA for Physics. I know he’ll have to report any changes to admissions. Do you think this would put his applications in jeopardy?
Doesn’t sound like it would make a difference. You could say in the email “I would gladly stick with this elective if blah blah blah but I think TAing physics would help be blah blah”
I doubt adcoms will care
You’d have to call each individual school and ask. I don’t think it should matter since the class he would drop is an elective and not a core class, but still he would need to be careful.
