For those who got into one of the HYPSM, what schools on your list were considered matches?
Rice University
Washington University in St. Louis
University of Chicago
Rice can be considered a match? you got in, right?
anyone else???
I withdrew my application once I got into Stanford, so I’m not sure. What can be considered a match varies so much from student to student that any list would be little more than a place to start searching.
Boston College
University of Chicago
Rice University
Washington University in St. Louis
I was accepted at the four listed above but will attend Princeton.
so, Rice isn’t that selective, huh?
^@ripemango, wrong conclusion. The two users who listed Rice as a match got into tremendously selective schools. One can infer that if they were good enough to get into these schools, then they could probably be fairly confident about their admission into Rice even before they knew about their HYPSM acceptances. Rice is still a selective school for the normal applicant.
UChicago EA.
UC Berkeley, UCLA, Cornell
maybe Duke and Amherst
cornell can be a match? you must of been good
I don’t think I really had any matches. UC Berkeley and Rice were probably the closest things I had to matches, but their scholarship behavior suggests that they were closer to safeties.
it would be unwise to consider many of these peoples’ ‘match’ evaluations valid.
yeah Rice has scholarships, how does that make it a safety? I mean it might not even be a match. How good were you???
What I’m saying is that if you get a full-ride merit scholarship from the school, it was probably a safety.
You got a full ride merit scholarship from Rice? WOwowowowowwow
