Late Admissions Anxiety ={

So I’m technically done with college apps, but now I’m waiting–probably the worst part ever. Been thinking that I should have applied to more. Chance me? Thanks.

Applied to:
UChicago
Rice
WashU in St. Louis
Columbia
Harvard
Yale

Asian female in Massachusetts
(probably the worst combo for college admissions, no?)

Academics
GPA: 4.69 weighted,4.00 unweighted
Rank: ~5/450 (school doesn’t rank)
Hardest course load possible at school
Fairly competitive HS – ~20 to Ivies/top schools per year

Scores:
SAT I: 800 M, 800 CR, 770 W
SAT II: 800 for US History, Bio E, Math 2C
AP: 5 on US History, Bio, Micro & Macroecon

Extracurriculars:
-Academic Decathlon: Record score at regionals (our schools regularly places in top 7 at nationals)
-School Newspaper: section editor
-Cultural Mag: editor
-Film Club & Film Reviewing–movies are my PASSION
-300+ community service hours: Peer Tutoring, Brattle Theatre

Recs: Didn’t read but guessing
Teacher: One good but bland, other pretty good
Counselor: solid

Essays: Solid but not spectacular.
One offbeat one about Spam.
One conventional one about my love for movies.

do u make movies or view movies?

Those are exactly the same schools I applied to…except I applied to a few more. Um…your stats are similar to mine so I’m hoping you can get in. I would say that you have a solid chance into all schools but Harvard and Yale. The last two really depend on your interview, essays, and “voice.”

not saying thatu wont get into those, cuz im sure ull get into one or two at the least… but seriously, i woudl scamper and pick a decent safety cuz those are all very tough schools to get into

for uchicago it totally depends on your essays. because we can’t read your essays, we can’t guess your chances at uc. if your essays were very good for chicago, you have a chance there. it’s still hard to say though.

Your grades/sat is nice, but you just seem like a stereotype.
