Late Application

My guidance counselor didn’t tell me that the deadline had already passed, and I called the Berkeley office and they said I could still mail the app late with an excuse. Any ideas for good excuses? Also, I didn’t know the Math Level 1 did not count as an SAT II, and I only have two SAT IIs including the Math Level 1. The Berkeley office said they would still consider my app, but at this point is it not even worth sending it in? (out of state)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news…but i dont think it is even worth applying…i really do feel bad for you. I hope you get into another great university!

I wouldn’t even do it if I were you. I wouldn’t pay the out of state tuition even if I got in, anyways.

I think it depends on how strong you are in the other areas… post your stats and ask ppl what they think.

GPA: 3.93 (unweighted), 4.64 (weighted), top 5 percent
SAT I: 690 (verbal), 700 (math), 680 (writing)
SAT II: 710 (math 1), ___ (biology–find out on the 19th)
Good extracurriculars/awards
From the east coast

I still dont think it’s worth it…but I think you will be able to get into wonderful universities with those stats.

I too hate to be the bearer of bad news…but For the UCs, Math I will not be accepted as an SAT II by the UC system; you have to have taken the Math II. So unless you you took another SAT II test as well, you would have an even harder time applying.

ok thanks…any other opinions?

Do you really want to go to a UC that bad?? Are there any other universities that you are interested in…I bet you will most likely get into to them with your stats! Ya th UC’s are kinda out of the question…but i hope you can get into another school of your choice…man i just wish there was something that could be done in your case…well good luck…

If you really want to go to UC and you aren’t strapped for cash, by all means go ahead and apply. The worst thing that could happen is they could reject you.
