Late bloomer for Performance?

Hey, I’m just wondering if I can pursue vocal performance even though I’m a late starter on voice lessons, having only been taking for a year and a half, but singing for four. I got serious over the last three years, but only formal training for a year and a half. I have been accepted at Crane for music ed, but denied for vocal performance. Is it possible to reapply again during the year for performance once I get some college training? Or is it too late for me and I have no chance at making it as a performer? I have yet to hear back from oberlin, so I might yet be accepted for a performance degree, but considering I didn’t make it at Crane…

Lots of male voices develop late. The questions are whether your voice is immature or have you already picked up some bad habits, perhaps imitating others or by using your body poorly. If you have a talent, a good teacher will help you with those things. VOice faculties are pretty good at predicting possibilities, but they are proved wrong quite often. What does your private teacher say? Good luck to you.
