Late career starter

In early 30s. Quite successful in career in media. Peers doing EMBA or even MBA, but I don’t see the benefit (and am not much for “brand gloss”). Considering a career switch into law, as my family from mother’s side was entirely into law, and famously successful.

I am interested in civil law, not criminal.

Would US law schools be welcoming of a fairly smart student in his thirties (good grades, good global career track record) who has had absolutely zero experience of law thus far but wants to change careers? It seems most of these schools are targeted at students straight out of college, toting their high GPAs. Any experience or advice?

Thanks!

Age won’t be a major factor one way or the other. Some schools will prefer it, but even then it’s not a game-altering phenomenon. The big thing will be your UGPA (yes, it still matters) and your LSAT score.
